Hi!! I’m newer to plants and I bought an Alocasia a few months ago and I died unfortunately:( I got a new one last month and it was doing okay and this past week the leaves have been dropping like no other. I’m not sure if it’s because there are two flowers growing so all the energy is focused there? Any advice or tips?☺️

    Maybe not enough humidity?

If the down turned stems feel normal and strong, then it’s probably too much light. If the down turned stems feel wimpy and weak, then it is something else.

The color of these leaves don’t look sunburnt to me. My guess would be you’re watering too much or too little based on the color of that soil, probably too little. Put it in a self watering pot and alocasia become a LOT easier to work with. Otherwise “evenly moist” takes near constant effort

Also, I’m willing to bet your first alocasia didn’t actually die unless it rotted. Alocasia can drop all their leaves and still be regrown from corm. I actually grew the alocasia pictured in my last comment back from the corm of one I thought died because of industrial dehumidifiers after our apartment flooded last year. Here are some pictures of its comeback!

I might see some white flecks on the leaves though. Do you see any small white bugs or webbing on the leaves? Another reason this plant might be dramatic at the moment would be spider mites 😬

Wow you have been so helpful!! I’m thinking it’s a watering issue so I’m going to go get a self watering pot today. As for the bug or webbing- I am not seeing any😅

What self watering pots do you recommend? I had some plants in terra cotta pots that I thought would regulate water well, but they ended up flooding my roots. Then I got some from Walmart where you fill the reservoir, and had the same issue. I switched to nursery pots but have a new alocasia that I want to do well

My absolute favorite brand is Lechuza, but they’re a bit pricey. I’ve had great luck with cheaper options like this. Most of my plants are in this type of pot now.
