i am new to the plant community so bare with me 😅 but i have a epipremnum aureum that i got as a gift. i am needing to repot/fertilize it. any pointers on what type of pot and all the goodies needed I water it outside so it doesn’t drain onto the floor, so any way to help it not drain on the floor? or would a new pot help with this? again i am new so anything would help a lot!

Repotting Tips: Use a pot 1-2 inches larger with drainage holes. Choose a well-draining potting mix (peat moss, perlite, and potting soil). Loosen roots, prune dead/damaged ones. Water immediately after repotting, then avoid overwatering. What fertilizer will you be using?

I’m not sure on the fertilizer yet, i wouldn’t even know where to start if i’m being honest!

A 10" pot with a drip tray will be a good upgrade and keep the pot from draining onto the floor. I keep my pothos in plastic pots. As for goodies, I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil with Bonsai Jack Gritty Mix at a 4:1 ratio. Fertilizer is Espoma Organic Indoor liquid concentrate. Pothos also love to climb, so I have mine on metal trellises and coco coir poles. They also do fine trailing, but I love the big leaves of a climber. This is my favorite plant; she's outgrown her trellis this summer so we'll be looking to upgrade next spring.

I have mine in a plastic pot with drainage, and it sits in a larger decorative pot without drainage… after I water it and give it a couple minutes, I empty anything that’s drained into the larger pot so that I can be sure it isn’t sitting with its feet wet! My favourite outer pots are the ones where there’s somehow a little space in the bottom under my plant (ie the plant’s inner pot is suspended) because then if I’m a little forgetful there’s less risk of it sitting in water. Still gotta empty it when I remember, though!
