Hi all, I have recently acquired this beauty! It’s currently in a ceramic pot so no drainage (I will be putting in a nursery pot later today) but wondered where it’ll be best placed? I have a conservatory that gets light all morning until around 3pm or my living room (off the conservatory) that is light but not in full sun. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, either would work but you should pick the one that gives it the light pattern that it is used to receiving to help it acclimate to its new environment easily. It’s such a beautiful plant! So well manicured!

I don’t personally have this plant, but my grandmother has had one for years that has sat in her kitchen window. It gets sun from the early morning into the afternoon and it has thrived! ❤️

Thank you. It’s a beauty! I think I’ll put it in the conservatory as it was previously in one and it’ll get the morning light.

I’ve seen Jade plants thriving in full sun in Portugal and in Florida, so if it were me I’d put it wherever it will receive the most light possible. However, if it’s not used to that much light, I’d probably spend ~2 weeks slowly moving it closer to its permanent spot so it can get used to the new light and not get accidentally scorched.

It came from a conservatory so going on your advice, I think I’ll place it there and keep an eye on it. Thank you.

One of my jades is of now 30-year-old cuttings from my abuela’s 60+ year-old jade, and it’s what got me into caring for houseplants. They love full sun, but I agree with those saying to acclimate it first to the environment they’re most used to, then gradually get them used to a brighter spot. One method would be to gradually set them closer and closer every couple of weeks to a bright window, but as it’s winter, you could simply place the plant in whichever spot will be the brightest for the most hours in the spring and summer, and allow it to naturally adjust as the seasons change to gradually increase the amount of daylight for you.

Oh, how lovely that you have such a connection to your Jade plant. Thanks for your advice.
