Hiii, I’ve been wanting to get a money tree and bird of paradise. Does anyone have any basic care on these babies before I purchase them?

I don’t know about birds of paradise, but money trees like bright indirect light and to dry out completely between waterings. They get a bit droopy when they need water, and they don’t need water often because they store it in their trunk.

The bird of paradise, unlike what you may hear, can be a fairly hardy plant if given some proper conditions. While they can survive in somewhat of a range of lighting conditions, and are sometimes even advertised as medium-low light plants, they really will do their best in as much sun as possible, and can even be acclimated to outdoor sun in some climates! While they can be okay with typical household humidity, they will highly appreciate a boost of humidity, and can sometimes have their growth stunted without it. I would recommend a small space humidifier (and despite what manyyyy people will say online, misting a plant *is not* a substitute for humidity). They like a well-draining soil that will maintain moisture but not stay water-logged, and are usually watered when their top 1-2 inches of soil dry out (similar to other tropical plants like alocasia or pothos). With the proper care, these can fairly quickly grow into a great statement plant!
