My mom wants to know why her cactus is dying but tbh im not sure how to assess the problem can anyone be of any help?

    Hmmm, trying to zoom in on different parts, are those mealy bugs near the dead areas??

    It looks completely dry. bottom water. let it sit in water for 20-30 min and see if they perk up by tomorrow. take it out of the pot and check for pests first though!

    Could possibly have dry rot. I would take out of soil and check the roots. If all looks good repot and make sure it's getting water when the soil completely dries out
