Hello!! This is Juliette & she’s a heart fern! Her leaves grew really large over the first couple of months, but recently all new leaf growth is turning brown/wilting. Her established leaves are starting to turn brown on the edges. Her pot has drainage and she isn’t in direct sunlight. Any thoughts?

0 Mi piaceThat might be your problem. I use Planta as a reminder to check if a plant needs water and it has been wrong a few times. I think you're accidentally overwatering. Get a soil meter from Amazon they are cheap.

Are you using distilled water? Maybe it’s sensitive to the water

planta schedules are infamous for telling you to overwater. always check. finger or chopstick or tool of your choice, 2" deep in the soil. if it comes out wet, hit the snooze button. possibly my favorite button on the app. for ferns, top 2" should be almost dry. ask yourself "will this be bone dry by tomorrow afternoon?" and if the answer is yes, it's time to water

I had a plant that I was watering by the app and it was in a drain saucer that was floating!!! The pot was full to the brim with water!!! It was on a shelf in a heavy pot so I didn’t lift it ever to water. Big mistake.
