Does anybody know of a self watering device like or similar to these terra-cotta self watering spikes? I NEED IT FOR SMALL PLANTS. These spikes are way too big, but there must be something out there that would help water a small plant, say for vacation. TIA for any help. 🤗💚🪴 Globes are nice, but they are a pain to take out and refill, so there must be something similar to this; I just can’t find it!

Try a wick watering system, worked amazing for me with my smaller plants

Do you have a special system that you really like; if so, what is it called, so I can check it out. TIA for any comment. 🤗💚🪴

I just bought thick cotton rope off Amazon, used a chopstick to shove the rope into the soil and set up a large bucket higher than the plants with string to each one that I was worried would dry out while on vacation. Try it out before your vacation because it’s trial and error… may have to tie knots in the rope to slow down water… longer rope… shorter rope

That’s definitely a smart DIY project! Maybe I’ll give it a try, although it sounds a bit challenging. Did you put your plants on the floor or did you put a bucket up high on something? Just curious as to how you made it work. 🤗💚🪴

Personally I prefer the look of the globes. You could try something like this with small 8oz water bottles.

That looks like a better idea than those big terra-cotta stakes. I’m wondering if I could cut the bottom off the water bottle so I could just pour water into the bottle without having to remove the stake from the plant??? You’ve given me some food for thought. Thanks for the suggestion. 🤗💚🪴
