Hi everyone! New here. I'm going away for 10 days, most of the recommendations here is to water every week. Should I water more then usual before leaving or just wait until I come back and continue?

0 likesTotally depends on the plant. I’m in the same predicament. My tropicals I’m going to water thoroughly, my cactus haven’t been watered in a while I’m letting them dry out until Im leaving then they’re getting a thorough watering and my plants in smaller pots that need more frequent watering are going in trays of water. This way I’m sure everything is happy beforehand and the neglect will essentially be good for them lol I’ll be fertilizing everyone too. Happy travels ✌️

0 likesYou could totally wait to water them till the day before you leave and then tape paper towels to the soil of your plants, this will lock in moisture and allow your plant to stay happy while you’re gone. Just make sure not to water them more than usual, just the normal amount. If I’m not gone for too too long (so like 5 days) I do this for plants that like their soil to stay moist (like Alocasias) but if I’m gone a little longer (10-15 days) I’ll wrap alllll my plants. Hope this helps!!
