JessI have both of mine next to the plants on a little stand about 12 inches off the ground with nothing above it

I got mine from HD, it was pricy but it is big enough for my one plant room and only have to fill it once a week or 10 days and it has an auto sensor so it keeps it at the right humidy without running 24/7. Also got this little temp and humidity monitor that sits near it to help me keep track of if it’s doing its job.

KJMy humidifier is a CVS brand just like yours. I plug in into an old school timer so it is not running constantly.
