I recently treated myself to a Thai Constellation. I noticed the root poking out of the bottom of the pot. Should I go ahead and repot it? Iām so scared to kill this baby! I love her so much. Sheās been acclimating in my house for a week. Can one of you come hold my hand while I do it? š
Would it be advisable to let the new leaf harden off first? Itās still pretty tender.

I would wait, they donāt mind being super pot bound. And thatās leaf should harder of, beautiful plant!

2 Likes Thank you! I lucked out at the nursery. š couldnāt leave it there. āŗļø Iāve watched the leaf unfurl and I swear itās expanding. Itās been so entertaining in the short time Iāve had it.

You have to remove the pot to determine if itās root bound. One root sticking out does not mean it needs repotting. That root could be getting drained water sitting in the outer pot.

If you think itās a good potting medium then Iād leave it in there for sure. As long as itās growing youāre golden. If you think itās a poor potting medium then Iād still give it a few weeks to let it adjust before swapping out for a chunky mix. Unless itās very root-bound Iād put it back in the same pot. Just with a different medium. And congrats! Sheās a stunner!
