Good morning planties! I was curious and wanted to make a Friday poll to see where everyone falls on the plant parent spectrum! 🪴🌱💚 So, are you more of a helicopter plant parent, watering your plants more than they might need? 🚁 Or, are you a hands off plant parent and when you think about watering them, you give them an extra few days because “they can make it” lol? 🌵 Comment down below or use either emoji 😊

I'm a new plant mama. Just started loving and owning them this summer. So I have to say that I'm a helicopter plant mama. Only because I'm looking for something NEW every day!! I'm so excited!! A new flower, a new leaf, a new sprout!! Something!! Anything!!! At first, I was over-watering, but I've learned my lesson. Now I just make my rounds. Talking to them, picking off any dry leaves, cleaning up, blah blah , you know - the typical helicopter mama! 💚 That's me!!

I'm definitely helicopter parent lol, until I get to my succulents and a few days turns into a few months. They're thriving though so 🤷

Oh yeah succulents and cacti love neglect, I have a snake plant and she doesn’t care when I water her, just at some point

Ahhh that makes sense, some plants out there need CONSTANT attention lol. I can’t have those right now because I have a lil toddler and she is a bundle of energy and attention seeking lol

I’m the parent that gets told how to parent because I have no idea what I’m doing. Aka why I use this app 🤣🤣😌

I started off as a helicopter parent but now that I’m 3-4 years into my plant parent journey I’m more hands off. Honestly, some plants thrive off a little neglect 😂

That’s good! So true too, they almost don’t care that you don’t care 😂

I'm definitely both, but helicopter is my more natural state! I'll get into helicopter mode and want to crawl into the tropical cabinet with my babies lol. I don't overwater them, but everyone gets personal attention at least once a day 🚁 When the depression hits, we find out who the real strong ones are in the house 😅 I can easily go 2-3 weeks without touching any of them, even if I know they need water. Luckily that doesn't happen *too* often anymore, but I definitely have some troopers I've had to nurse back from my own neglect 🙃

Awww that would be a dream to be amongst the plants all day lol. Ugh yeah can definitely relate in a way, it just slips your mind for awhile until things start going south. I’m glad it is getting better for you though, most plants are hardier than we give them credit for too! 😊
