Can anyone tell me why my golden patho is doing this. It was a start from a friend’s plant.

Do you have it in direct sunlight?
1 j'aimeI did but moved it back to part sun area
0 J'aimelooks burnt but also the pot is way too big
1 j'aimeHi there, the pot looks too big for the root system which can lead to too much water being absorbed by the soil and causing root issues. How big were the roots when you planted this cutting? I tend not to pot up anything with roots that are smaller than about 2 inches or have secondary roots.
1 j'aimeI thought the pot was too big. Can I replant
0 J'aimeHow big of a pot should I put it in?
0 J'aimeYes, I would replant. Select one that’s about 1-1.5 inches all the way around the root ball. With a starter plant that has a very small root system that could be a 3 or 4 inches pot
1 j'aimeThank u. The roots were about 2 to 3 inches when potted
0 J'aimeBabies :) if you can, mix your soil with perlite to provide aeration to the roots as well. So that would be about 75% soil and 25% perlite. This will help prevent cloggy soil and root rot issues
1 j'aimeIt’s definitely got sunburnt so I would recommend keeping it in the indirect sunlight! I usually cut off the burnt part and sometimes even the entire leaf when this has happened to me. ☺️
0 J'aimeThank you
