Recently purchased this beautiful Vanda Orchid. Unfortunately I am not very good at keep orchids despite reading lots about caring for them. Since bringing this home, it has already lost a new shoot that was growing and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I water this by placing roots in water for 20 mins to half an hour twice weekly and then once a month add orchid fertiliser.
Such a pretty flower, unfortunately I’m with you on not being able to keep them alive! So, no help here but hopefully someone can help you, shame to lose such a beauty

you should be watering much more often. water whenever the roots go silver, which yes, will be nearly every day

I’ve not had any luck with them. However, there is a girl on fb that can help. She has over 100 and she grows them all in total water. Look up orchid girl. I believe that’s her name.

I just bought one too! The seller told me to mist them every other day but daily is best. Or apparently if you have a bathroom with a window (they need plenty of light but not direct sun) that is a good humid place for them to be.
