I need help/advice! I am new to plants, I’ve had some for the last couple of years, but I didn’t start actually learning and taking good care of them until the beginning of this year, and now they’re all thriving. I’m absolutely clueless of what to do with my plants once it starts to get cold/when winter hits. I’ve lived in year-round tropical climates the past decade, and we just moved to North Carolina where there’s all 4 seasons. I attached a picture of all my porch plants; what do I do for them when it gets cold, specifically winter? Do I leave them out there? The porch is not screened in. They’re all healthy and thriving for now.

First I have two spider plants one named Peter and one named Parker 🤣🤣 but as far as the planty question, I bring my plants in when the overnight low starts to drop into low 50s.

Hey, great minds think alike 😁 okay, so absolutely no to leaving them out there? Will they die if I do?

I think the aloe, cactus and snake plants would be most affected. The other might take could a little better. But any temps into 40s would for sure shock the plants. I live in CO so our cold weather is a little more harsh than yours.

Plants with Krystal on instagram just made some good videos about bringing plants inside for colder months.

I would definitely bring these in when it starts getting cool at night, most of those cannot withstand temps in the 40’s!

I agree with everyone about bringing them all inside.

lol the names are so cute, but I would definitely bring them inside, all my aloe Vera lives in my dining room window which receives a lot of sun, and they still thrive in the winter time since it’s close to my warm kitchen when I’m making late night winter meals
