I got this spider plant from a friend and I've had it for a few months. I've left it in the sun and I now regret that. The spider plant has lost its white and green pattern. Also anyway to dtop cat from eating??

Cats LOVE spider plants!! It is a hallucinogenic to them so they will keep going back for more. In small amounts no issue but in larger amounts can give them intestinal issues. A funny story while I was in college I had a friend give me a spider shoot from her plant. I brought it home and it grew nicely. Suddenly my cat who was quite old started chewing it and began running around and acting frisky again. My mother accused me of bringing home one of those “funny plants “ (it was the 70s) lol. I assured her it wasn’t. She moved the plant out of the cat’s reach and we enjoyed the plant for many years lol.

0 likesYep. Put it in a hanging pot. Hahahaha my cat LOVES the spider plants. It’s now in a hanging pot where she cannot get to it. Amazon also has cute relatively cheap plant hanging shelves that have a hook and ropes that connect to a piece of wood to sit a pot on. You can hang them above a window. They’re pretty and simple and cute.

0 likesThey can take early morning East light and the late afternoon west light. Adding a single plant grow light about 1 foot from the plant for 12 hours a day should bring back the variegation. Fertilize it about once a month. Reduce fertilizer in cold slow growing months. Let the soil dry between watering. Don’t follow a strict schedule without verifying the soil actually needs water to avoid root rot. The thick roots hold more water than typical plants. Avoid overwatering. 🍀🪴
