New aquarium setup! I’m setting this tank up riparian style so that the roots will filter the tank. It’s been cycling for about a week. My plan is is to have a community betta tank (yes, they can live with other fish- just not other bettas) I’ll have one male betta, a mystery snail and shrimp for algae control, and a small school of tetras.

It’s been a blast to put it together! I gathered the materials for about a month and a lot of the materials I found on Craigslist. (Sun lamp and heater) It’s very relaxing to watch and I don’t even have any critters in it yet! 😄

Thank you! I can’t wait for it to grow in.

Pretty sure the betta will eat the shrimp. I had Gourami’s that wiped out like 30 of my shrimp before I figured out what was going on. So keep an eye on that if you’re gonna try it out.

Yeah, I’m going to introduce the shrimp first so it may not be as territorial. Here’s hoping. 🤞
