What do y’all do about your tradescantia always dying off starting at the core? Is there a way to prevent it? How do I keep them looking nice without completely cutting off all their hair and repotting everything? Im about done with tradescantia because of it. But they are SO pretty!

Yep, beautiful plants but once they enter that phase I have no idea what to do either … tried everything to save mine and finally gave up 😔

I’m kind of keeping track of my Zebrina, but I’m pretty sure that’s only because the stems are bigger and mine is yet not super dense. I have no idea what to do with Bertha Martha Wilhemina Krause here. Her “hair” is just too thick to do anything without basically obliterating her.

Gonna keep following along here to see what others suggest and maybe I’ll allow another one into my life but only if I know how to help it earlier on should it struggle the same!

I am not an expert in tradescantia but I dug through the depths of plant Reddit where someone asked the same question as yours about 4 years ago! It seems like good advice and I was going to suggest chopping and propping!

Okay. I guess this does make sense. Okay. Trimming is commencing.

It’s hard to do the chop but it’s rewarding watching your little props grow and then adding them back in later
