No judgement please… this poor tradescantia nanouk got a bit neglected last year - left in a hot window for longer than I care to admit to. As a result the lengths ended up quite dry and the leaves dried out and went brown. I moved it and kept feeding it but didn’t do much else at the time as I didn’t want to shock it more. I’ve now taken off most of the brown dry dead leaves - I left a bit so you can see if the pics. The ends have grown some healthy (ish) looking bits. I’m not sure if I should prune it back to the middle, repot it and hope for the best or if there’s a better solution, can you do the loop & pin thing you can do with pothos? Or cut the healthiest end bits off and propagate back into the bare bits of the same pot? Thank you for any advice!

    I’d chop and prop. They root very well in soil

    Inch plants are ground creepers. They spread out from the base seeking light. As they spread, any node that touches ground will take root, extending its range. Also, as they spread the older leaves die off. This is what you are seeing. To keep a fuller bushy inch plant you have to constantly cut it back and burry the cuttings into the pot (make sure at least one node is buried).

      I did not know that about them - that’s super helpful, thank you! Do you think it would be worth finding a wider mouthed nursery pot to do the cut & prop?

    you can do the soil circling thing, but their stems are not nearly as flexible as a pothos, so they'll probably break anyways. chop and prop is best solution here.
