Hi! I've got a dieffenbachia under a grow light, but it's been thinning out and the new leaves never uncurl properly. Been thinking about chopping all the leaves and restarting the growth. Anyone have any recommendations on how to trouble shoot or if starting over would be best?

    How often are you watering and how long have you had it? These go through an acclimation period and leaves die off. Sensitive to overwatering

      Watering every 2 weeks in the winter, maybe once a week when it was warmer.

    I believe it’s your watering. Don’t water plants on a schedule, only when almost dry. Dieffenbachias hold lots of water in the stems/leaves. I only water mine when 75% dry.

      I agree. You should let it dry out in between waterings. They hate being moved/handled as well. Grow lights are a substitute but I find that they like indirect sunlight the best. Also they appreciate a slightly chunky soil for drainage. I hope this helps!
