So question… I read that placing a pothos clipping in your propagation jar will help other plants propagate. Is this true?

It’s said that pothos release something in the water that helps plants grow roots

1 LikeYes and no. Pothos do generally produce more rooting hormone then slower growing/rooting plants. So it CAN aid to add a cutting to a slow rooter. BUT if you are changing the water every 1-2 weeks its kinda pointless as you're flushing said rooting hormone its releasing. In a personal comparison, just using a rooting hormone works way better, and if you have to change the water you just drop in more. Vs having to wait for them to build it up over time, and dealing with possibly dirty water.
7 Likesyes! pothos produce mass amounts of rooting hormone. i recommend not completely changing the water if you're going to use pothos though. simply top it off when it needs more water. if you're worried about algae growth you can use a few drops of hydrogen peroxide to prevent mold and algae growth
