Myth-busting Monday! What is a myth you believed when you first became a plant parent?
I had a belief that I was cursed when it comes to keeping plants happy (I had a few beginner bonsai that didn’t make it very far)! Now that I have kept about 15 plants seemingly happy for a while now…I’d consider that self-myth busted!🪴😜
いいね 1件Love this! So glad that you self myth busted 🤣
いいね 1件I believed the myth that my large Thanksgiving cactus was a Christmas cactus. When I found out there were three types of holiday cactus and they were all occasionally or consistently called a Christmas cactus - my mind was blown 🤯 I now have one of each and I love having them all. Someday when I have the room I want to display them next to each other.

いいね 1件Oh noooo! 😅 def leads to root rot. Saw a good explainer from one of my plant ladies on insta. Long story short the water continues pooling up and up til it rots the roots, essentially doing the opposite of what was intended. Killed at least 3 before I connected the rocks I mean dots lol
0件のいいねThat alocasias go dormant in the winter. That is the type of stuff that people repeat constantly online when in fact, unless you keep your house crazy cold or don’t use grow light at all, they will still continue to grow!
2件のいいねYes the winter myth for tropical or rainforest plants that have no idea what winter is or genetics that tell them to shut down for an event that doesnt happen where they are from😆😆 its not dormant, its suffering and in survival mode😬🫣
