Hey folks! I’ve finally come to the conclusion i need help with my bamboo plant. Please let me know if there’s anything i can do. This is my office plant so if i need to take it home and dissect it I will. The pot that it is in has no drainage hole and is a soil-perlite mix. It seems to be leaning even though I have it close to the window. Any tips/suggestions will be appreciated!

Just a little advice… It actually doesn’t like a bamboo but a different dracaena. Someone else will know what kind. 😉🙃 It definitely needs to have some drainage so that it doesn’t sit in too wet of soil. Not sure what soil is best or exactly why it’s leaning. Is it leaning toward or away from the window?

Dracaena! Wonderful, i wasn’t sure if it was a bamboo so thank you!! It was leaning towards the window. So now i have it on the windowsill

Alison is right, it is a type of Dracaena and it’s essential that you need a pot with drainage holes. For the leaning part, it’s probably because it’s too heavy, so you’ll have to prune it back. I know there’s a method to pruning Dracaenas, but I’m not sure how. But, I’d do a little research on that if I were you.

Thank you so much. I will have to look into it. I was given this office plant so i have to most likely repot it for a pot with drainage holes. Thank you!!!

If it’s leaning towards the window it needs more light. I actually have one by my window and a grow light is on the other side of the room and funny enough it will grow towards the grow light because the grow light is putting out more light at the moment since it’s winter. I think it needs repotted with drainage holes. And maybe a humidifier… if you can’t find any pests I’m going to say that will fix your issue. I found spider mites on mine but actually they were old webs, the mites had moved on lol… so now I keep it dusted every week or two

Wow great tip. It was leaning towards the window but now it is on the windowsill so hopefully the light is enough

It should be but if you want to be certain amazon has cheap grow lights, which will be great if you get more plants
