Itâs hard to tell but it could be mould. Probably not the best practice but I would just see if it can be wiped off with a soft damp cloth đ
1 LikeIâd just wipe it off. Might check in the crevices for mealy bugs too.

It went from nothing there to that and then the separate plant. Is that was mealy bugs do?!? đ
0 LikesThey could if theyâre in the same pot. My experience was what I thought looked like mold. Couldnât see any bugs. But one morning I decided to be more thorough and around the stem bases and creases in the woody parts and around leaf buds. There were mealy bugs. I tried treating with neem oil but didnât have alot of luck. People say it works. Maybe I wasnât spraying enough. I just decided to toss any plant that I saw them on, which was two. I donât have the chutzpah to deal with that. I used the flashlight on my phone and checked every bit of the plant. They group together and drink the plants milk so if you have them I think thatâs what youâd see.

Weâll update: 100% mealy bugs and it spread to multiple plants that came from a different place and werenât even that close đ
0 LikesI read once somewhere that layering rocks over the soil rarely provides any benefits and actually can stunt the oxygen access for the roots but it does look very aesthetically pleasing

I thought the same! I got this from a shop and asked about drainage. No drainage either đ¤ˇââď¸
