I feel like baby rubber plants are so underrated, especially as beginner houseplants! The gal on the right was one of my first plants ever and she's grown like a champ since the day I got her. I've been accumulating different varieties and they're in the spot of honor on the coffee table 🌿

Love this and love these plants!!! The variegation can be sooo pretty too. My first one way back when I’m pretty sure got root rot because one day it suddenly flopped right over from the base… and I chopped it, stuck it in water, and it grew roots. 3 years later and I have 3 very happy healthy plants. 😍 So yes I agree a great beginner plant! They like to dry out but are so easy to propagate if you mess up (low stakes)!

Hi Holly!! I came across your comment because I am worried about my baby rubber plant who is doing what it sounds like yours did! I am a novice at propagation- would you be willing to share more specifics about your method? I may be at this point. Thank you so much!

Hi Stacy! I personally have had success literally just cutting the stem (so that no floppy/mushy part remains) and sticking it in water. It might not be the best way to do it, but I personally have done it successfully several times! It was just that simple!

Wow! Thank you! I’m hoping for a full recovery of what is left. I stupidly tossed a chunk of stem that flopped off. I will not make that mistake twice!

Agree! My first (and only) is a standard green that came (tiny) out of an arrangement i received a few years ago as a birthday gift. With the right light these are such prolific and satisfying growers!!

Agreed and not too tough to propagate! You know what’s even easier to water prop than pothos?? Sweet potato vine! This pic is of three vases with clippings I snagged from my step-mom on Election Day. One week only and those rooootz!

These baby rubber plants are some of the only plant I have that grow like champs ❤️ I’m a very new plant parent and think these are so not talked about enough! I love them!
