Looks like it needs more light and your pot may be slightly too big!

well i had a bigger one the same species but when i tried to stake it to keep it up straight i ripped off the top and replanted it because the bottom half died. i just got smaller pots so i can try that. thanks!

It might be that the lower leaves on the bottom have grown old and are just naturally dying off, but if you’re bottom watering it and letting the soil completely dry out between waterings (I never water a succulent more than every 10 days in the summer) you might wanna check the roots. The other possibility is soil and light. Would you mind telling us what type of succulent soil you use? Some brands like miracle grow can keep the soil way too moist for too long. The other possibility is that your plant is stretching. Succulents need lots of light and minimal watering. I’d suggest trying to put it in the brightest window you’ve got.

thanks so much! this IS my brightest window and Planta says to water it every 11 days. like i said earlier, i had a bigger one but the top snapped off and so i replanted it. i don’t know what soil i use because i literally JUST ran out of it and threw the bag away. 🤦‍♀️ i’ll keep researching. thanks again! i may start watering it less though because when planta says to, it’s still damp

Sounds good! And good luck! And yeah, definitely let the soil completely dry out, and sometimes even two extra days for good measure. You can give the plant a custom schedule in the plant’s settings. I use a barbecue/bamboo skewer to stick all the way into the bottom of the soil to see if it’s completely dried out. Also good to poke holes in the soil to aerate it and loosen it if the water doesn’t drain from the soil quickly. And if the soil is still damp after 11 days, it’s likely miracle grow or a mix with way too much peat or holds moisture for way too long, which could be the source of the problem.

I use Espoma’s Organic Cactus and Succulent mix, if you’re looking for a new brand to try or wanna try repotting again. Have for a few years now and have never had a problem with it. It’s about $7-9 a bag where I live. I tried miracle grow’s succulent mix recently and added an entire bag of perlite to it for extra measure, and I kid you not, the soil was still as moist as it was by the second day as it was 2 WEEKS later. That’s an absolute plant killer, especially for succulents. I get it from my local nursery cause unfortunately, Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart all have deals to exclusively sell Miracle Grow, and they swear by Espoma, but I’ve also seen it at some Ace Hardware Stores, cause they’re independently owned. Real key to finding anything other than Miracle Grow is looking up nearby stores or calling ahead.

Hello, I got my little guy, HeaLZ at Walmart actually and repotted him three weeks after he was welcomed into our home. I used 50% succulent mix, 30% orchid bark and 20% LECA, inside a ceramic pot (which doesn’t hold lots of water) I water it according to Planta as long as soil is try, in a north facing window. My plant has tripled in size since repot and I also use Dr. Earth almost every other watering with boiled or distilled water I would suggest a repot into a smaller pot comparable to your root system, about two inches bigger✨ LotZ of LoVe ToDD✨
