Can I give coffee ground waste to acid-loving plants? I have an espresso machine at home and produce a lot of coffee ground waste every week. I’m thinking re-purpose them. Been told they contain acidity and can be used on plants I have hydrangeas and a few other plants marked as acid-soil loving by planta. Can I scatter dryer up coffee ground waste directly to soil of these plants, or better off just water with coffee ground soaked water? Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks:)

I’ve always been told that coffee grounds are really good for plants. Nitrogen is a major component of most fertilizers, and it is essential for photosynthesis and therefore plant growth.

and have you ever tried pouring a bottle of fertilizer on one plant? too much of anything is bad. plants (especially during flowering stage) CANNOT tolerate high levels of nitrogen, you’ll get cool foliage at a price of root growth and any possible flower formation. once you reach your pollinating stage you’ll realize flowers are kinda important.

That’s not what I’m saying. Too much of anything will be bad for a plant, but I saying that small amounts of coffee grounds, like dilute and small doses of fertilizer, can be beneficial for a plant at most stages. Of course, do anything with caution and deliberation.
