I rescued this Hoya, it’s my first…. This little tail is annoying but there looks like it might have new little baby on it… is it something I can trim??1

Don’t trim it because leaves will grow on it! Hoyas put out runners first because they’re epiphytes and are trying to find something like a tree to grow on

Exactly what Tanya said, but also if you want to trellis it, it will be really happy especially when it’s putting it out a new leaf. Just make sure to wrap the tendril counter clockwise, (wound in a spiral to the left)

I’ve never heard this about wrapping the tendrils a specific direction! Is this because the plant always naturally wraps that same direction?

Yes! In nature it grows that same direction around branches and other plants and if it’s wound the other way it usually doesn’t know where to grow or doesn’t grow that much

I didn’t know about the direction of spiraling vines. I try to not let them spiral using butterfly clips to make it easier to replace the trellis.
