Espoma soil: I’m looking to begin switching my plants to Espoma soil based on recommendations I’ve seen on here. So should I use the cactus mix for my succulents and use the potting mix for all my other non succulent plants?

Interesting, because I’ve noticed complaints about it. I just googled it. Thought I may have remembered incorrectly. You may want to do the same.
0 J'aimeIs there a soil mix you’d recommend? I really don’t want to go the route of buying several items to make my own mix. But needing something for snake plants & other succulents and for Pothos, philodendrons & a baby rubber plant.
0 J'aimeI keep all my peperomia obtusifolias in Espoma’s Cactus and Succulent mix and they seem to love it. I’ve never had a problem with their cactus mix or all-purpose mix, and I pretty much use Espoma’s soil almost exclusively. I’ve heard FoxFarm’s also a good brand, but I use Espoma because it’s cheaper and my nurseries recommend it. I’ve used it for a couple of years. For the all-purpose mix, I’d use it more like a base soil that you can add perlite and orchid bark to to make it a chunkier soil mix for extra drainage. The pothos and philodendrons would probably like a chunky mix like that, and the rest you listed should do great with the cactus mix. Hope this helps.
1 j'aimeI agree it can get confusing. I usually mix up my own concoctions. But looks like Adrian has good luck with it, so give it a try. For my succulents, my base is Jacks Gritty Mix, which I add regular potting mix into. Percent is based on type of succulent. Some people use 100% Jacks but it dries out too quickly for my tastes.
1 j'aimeThank you both for the helpful feedback!
1 j'aimeIm thinking of mixing espomas succulent mix with jacks gritty mix for my succulents. Thoughts? Also, dumb question but should I plant snake plants in succulent soil or what? The internet is not helpful on determining if it’s a true succulent or not lol.
