got this plant from home depot 3 days ago. i know they take some time to adjust to a new environment. anyone know if that’s all this is or if im doing something wrong?

    Cut off the browning leaves, even the half alive ones, and consider getting a $10 amazon growlight. Ive not had good luck with plants in the window, especially with velvet plants like this. they get burned.

    I actually think it looks better than you probably think it does. 😊 Alocasias are famous for being a little dramatic after they’re moved from the greenhouse to the store and then to a new home. They often droop or lose a leaf or two while they adjust. I’d avoid making a lot of changes right now. Just give it bright, indirect light, make sure it’s in a pot with good drainage, and only water when the top inch of soil starts to dry. If it’s sitting inside a decorative pot, make sure there isn’t any water collecting in the bottom because they don’t like wet feet. Also, if you have air conditioning, try to keep it away from cold drafts. They appreciate a little extra humidity, but I wouldn’t mist it. Give it a week or two before worrying too much. If it starts putting out a new leaf, that’s a great sign it’s settling in. I think it has a good chance of bouncing back. 💚
