I drilled a hole in the bottom of this ceramic pot but I’m scared I made it too big. Because I just have the little gravel rocks in this I’m nervous it won’t retain any water. Any tips?

    It’s probably gonna be fine because it’s not the container itself that contains the water. It is actually the substrate inside the container that will retain water but in any case I think it’s a great idea that you have a drainage full. That way there will be no stagnant water if you wanna talk more about this can you tell me what your substrate is?

      I’m not exactly sure what it is- picked the whole thing up from a festival. It’s all loose, though.

    I agree that as long as you have the right substrate you should be fine, really the only problem would be if it is an indoor plant the water could go everywhere but you can find a cheap plant saucer to contain any run off

    I place cut up screens on the bottom or just plain orchid bark which is usually chunky enough to hold the dirt in, but allow great drainage
