I think I already know the answer but I’m very new to plants and wanted to hear from folks with more experience. My Maranta seems to be growing well (constantly growing new leaves & recently it sprouted a lil baby flower and I see more coming!) But my question is, do I need to upgrade to a larger pot size?! I don’t know how to tell when it’s ready for a bigger one!

Some plants like being root bound most plant parents wait for the to go root bound before the repot. If it’s doing ok me … personally I’d let it go maybe till next spring. Are there roots poking out the bottom ? If so it may be time to repot.

Thank you for your response 😊 the roots are not growing out the bottom, but that’s definitely something I’ll watch for in the future!

After watering, wait an hour, then gently pull the plant out of the pot. You’ll be able to see what’s happening with the roots and the soil will stay together “mostly”.

You’re making me wish I still had my maranta. 😭 So pretty and healthy! 💚

I’m really happy with how it’s been growing. I was worried about this one the most and I’d argue it’s doing the best! I went away for MDW and came back to my cat having munched on a bunch of the leaves so it’s currently recovering from the trauma 🤣

At least kitty chose a pet-safe plant to sample! 😭
