Hello fellow plant friends:) I am wanting to add a String of Pearls plant to my collection. Please let me know of any advice, tips, and tricks you have for me. My biggest questions are: What is the best soil set up ? What is the best way to fertilize ? How much light should they get ? What type of pot should I use ?

SOP are succulants, so this will help answer many of these questions you want a well draining succulant soil, something that doesnt retain moisture for that long. i use EB stone as a base, and mix in more perlite/ammendments. i think any all purpose fert should be fine, but there are people that know more than me for ferts on here give lots of light - a grow light or south facing window will provide the most. make sure to give light to the top of the pot so it doesnt go bald, lol and as for pots, these guys have shorter, shallow root systems, so something that is wider than deep would do well :) (make sure to only go 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball) Plants with Krystal on youtube has some good videos on these guys, i suggest checking out her vids! good luck!

Less is more with these guys - if you baby them they will die 😅 lots of bright indirect sun, mine are in an east facing window and I water when the pearls are lightly wrinkled/ squishy. I haven’t fertilized mine yet but so far they’ve been doing great all winter indoors, zone 9 I used succulent/ cacti soil and added perlite

I use the same fertilizer I use for my other houseplants. Also I just started bottom watering mine instead of top watering like I had been and it def likes it better.
