Hi yall. I repotted this plant from a 4in pot to a 6in pot, but I feel like it’s too big? Or do you think it’s ok? I just don’t like that it’s leaning and I feel like if it were more secure in its pot it wouldn’t be leaning as much? Thanks!

The pot should be only 1”-2” bigger than the root ball, especially going into the winter you want to make sure the soil won’t stay wet for too long, otherwise root rot. You could bury it just a little bit deeper if you feel you really must, but syngonium are known to trail so heavier leaves will droop. Normally when my syngonium get droopy it’s because they’re thirsty.

Really just depends on how big the root ball was! If it was getting pretty full of roots in the 4in then there shouldn’t be any problem going up a size. I tend to stake my plants after repotting just so they stay how I like them. I use bamboo skewers and just remove them whenever the plant seems ok to stand on its own. Podophyllum love trellis/moss poles, they’ll get bigger more pronounced shape. Or you can let them trail! Most of mine are trailing

They’re semi epiphytic so they will do either! Moss poles are technically “better” bc the plant can grow into it and stay hydrated, etc. but you also have to remember to water it. I likely won’t trellis any of mine because most are hydroponic. So I’m not sure I’ll ever get more pronounced lobes from them.

I think the pot is fine. I also repotted from a 4 to 6 in pot but I put a paint stick as a stake.
