Hi.Does anyone have any tips on how to care for a Venus flytrap?
There are definitely a couple of carnivore experts on here — I don’t claim to be one of them — but this is what I do know: VFT like poor soil conditions & high humidity (although I’ve read that if everything else is good, they can adapt to average in-home humidity.) A mix of sphagnum moss + a handful of perlite kept evenly damp. No fertilizers — they feed themselves with the traps. At least 6 hours of direct light a day — a grow light is a good option if you don’t have a sunny window for it, but the grow light will need to be on probably closer to 12 hours a day. Good luck! 😊💚

いいね 1件I am no Venus fly trap expert but I do have one that is doing pretty well. Main thing is to use distilled water and I keep mine in a dish that it can stay moist in and don’t let it dry up. Mine has new sprouts. And stays around my grow light now as it does get enough sunlight. I do keep the grow light running around the clock. Anytime I move it or anything I do put on gloves as I’ve heard touching it can kill it (but I didn’t fact check that)
いいね 1件Not any expert at all, but I heard if you don’t get many flies you should feed some to your plant with tweezers and I’ve seen in plant shops they put beans underneath and water the beans so it creates a very humid environment without being messy. Feel free to google all of this to fact check.
