Where should I start with this monstera? Ive rescued it for about a month to let it acclimate and it’s doing well but the soil smells disgusting like manure and now I’ve found worms which makes me want to cry because I hate bugs and it’s in my room. Should a repot help all these things?

I would repot it with fresh soil. The soil has to be a well-draining soil. Take it out of the pot. Wash off all the soil from the roots (you can do this outside in a bucket of water or with the water hose. And check the roots to make sure they are good. Then, put it in the same pot or slightly larger, with the fresh soil. Clip off any yellowing leaves, and water throughly. You should be good to go!

Oh…! There’s a whole little world in that pot! Earthworms are apparently a good indicator that your soil is healthy but im not sure that’s an earthworm…there are apparently invasive worms that look very similar as well that contribute to poor soil health. I’m the same way even if it’s a good indicator of healthy soil I feel icky when bugs are in my indoor plants. I would get rid of all of the soil and do a repot just to prevent any pest issues. That soil also looks look it could benefit from more additions to increase drainage and make it less dense… I also noticed some yellow leaves which could indicate too moist of a soil so would def do a check of your roots. Hopefully the smell isn’t coming from root rot!!! 😭
