Does anyone else have a mold-problem? My flaming katy (pictured) has never had mold… until now. Some of my plants in the surrounding area have the same type, are the spores just spreading or am I overwatering?

I only just started getting into house plants in the fall. So I don’t know why you didn’t get fungus before and are now. I’ve had mold and fungus gnats. Scrape the mold off. Mix a little cinnamon in w the top of the soil. Cinnamon is a natural anti fungal. I’ve also had to start having a fan on for several hours a day or overnight bc we seem to need better airflow in our house.

plantgeeki would check if you're overwatering just to make sure. it could also be that the soil just stays wet for a while, which isn't necessarily bad but can be bad for certain plants. check for root rot and cut back on watering for plants that are affected. to see if that fixes it

SuccySuccyThis happens with mine when I top water. Def try bottom watering instead. Should help with both mold and gnats!
