When should I repot this little guy? I got him at a yard sale and therefore don’t know how long it’s been in here. Also what size planter would be appropriate next? Also any advice helps this is my first spider plant.

it’s a glass pot so once you can see a LOT of the root system and it starts drying out a lot quicker i’d say repot it then and only use a pot two inches bigger than the root ball :)

1 me gustabrown leaf tips are just part of the spider plant experience, don’t take them personally. Bright indirect light — few feet back from a south facing window (mine is to the left of one) like Genesis said, you’ll be able to see the root system — which is pretty cool on a spider plant, the roots are vast and varied. Some spindly, some thick and tuber-like. It’s cool that you have it in glass for that reason, but be careful not to overwater without proper drainage. Another perk to the clear glass is that you’ll be able to see if water it sitting and pour it off.
2 Me gustaI would repot immediately for the sole purpose of drainage holes, but that's because I'm lazy and want to bottom water 90% of the time lol. If you repot now, I'd get a pot similar in size to the glass. If you want to wait, Genesis had great advice. I have my spiders in a cabinet- they seem to appreciate the extra humidity. Light is full spectrum 2500K, on 12 hours a day, and dappled slightly by fake ivy leaves
