My aunt gave me a branch of this Chinese or Japanese lantern plant today. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something so cool before! She said we can plant the seeds from the lanterns. Anyone have any tips?

I’ve never seen this plant but it’s super interesting looking! At first glance I thought it was a tomato plant!

They look like little tiny paper pumpkins!

Definitely! My intrusive thought wants to pinch one 🤣

I loooove these. Used to have one at my old place right outside the front door. Central California area, zone 9b. It was planted in-ground and grew tall and full, big enough to look like a dwarf tree. Was one of my favorite plants ever! I wish you luck :)

Thank you! I’ve never seen one before. My aunt had a neighbor who had one so now she has one too. She did make it seem like they were easy to grow.
