Hey y'all! I have a massive split leaf philodendron and I don't know what to do with it anymore. It's got aerial roots escaping from the pot and has been leaning to the side. Repotting isn't really possible since it's already so big and can barley be moved as it is. Should I cut some of the longer aerial roots? Stake it up with a tree branch? I'm also considering cutting some of the more browned leaves but I don't want her to be too bare and stem-y. And tips on helping her out and looking a bit nicer are appreciated.

Hey i will take it 😂. I would get it some support and that might help it a bit.

You can also cut the Arial rutes off but do some more research on it.

      It shouldn't hurt the plant

I know you're not really supposed to cut them off but I may trim some of the really long ones. Thanks.

When a split-leaf philodendron starts leaning and displaying numerous aerial roots, it often signifies that the plant needs support and potentially repotting or dividing. 😊🙏🏽

Thanks, I will try giving it some support. Repotting would be a huge challenge as it's already in a 24in wide pot and is incredibly heavy, but we'll see.

You could get a pretty cover pot for it too for better looks ✋

I'm always on the lookout for one but I've never seen any pots that big before. I was thinking about planting some pothos in the front to cover it up a bit.

It might be time to sell and start with a smaller more manageable one. I’ve seen some much shorter in 7 gallon pots selling for over $200 online. Test the market by advertising on local apps like Facebook marketplace or eBay (for local pickup) to see if there are local buyers.🪴🍀

You could divide it and make a killing by allowing us plant addicts to buy the divisions 🥰 BEAUTIFUL PLANT!
