Hi everyone, I am so confused by my lipstick mona plant. It is losing so many leaves, but is still flowering. I’ve had to prune her a few times. Any advice is so helpful!

Has it recently been repotted or exposed to colder temperatures? If so, it might be going through shock. If it has never been repotted, I’d give the roots a check and carefully take the plant out of its pot. I’ve found that box stores tend to pot them in too much soil, too larger of a pot, or poorly draining, peat-heavy soil, which can quickly lead to overwatering or root rot. If that’s the case, give the roots a check and come back and let us know if the roots look healthy or rotted/distressed. If you don’t think it’s from a needs for a repot or shock from repotting/a change in its environment, you might want to consider it’s been overwatered. Do you water over the top of the soil, or bottom-water it to keep the leaves dry? If you’re watering over the top of it, it’s possible the leaves are rotting from getting wet. If that’s the case, try bottom-watering it and letting the soil dry out between waterings. Hope this helps!
