When a fertilizer is not diluted, it can actually cause damage to the roots and they can not function anymore to transport water and nutrients.

Also if the fertilizer isn’t “balanced” then too much of one nutrient will collect in the leaves and essentially block other nutrients from being absorbed. This happens often with nitrogen in fertilizers or if people use coffee grounds, banana peels, etc.

Will this kill the plant from not being able to get a mix of nutrients?

Eventually. The first sign is yellowing leaves as the production of chlorophyll is reduced. Usually they adjust and come around however if the use of fertilizer is continued in the same way it will not grow properly and will die.
