Hello all! Need a bit of help here. I bought this plant from Aldi that was on deaths door (half price don’t worry). It had broken stems, curled leaves, crispy leaves and obvious damage from some insects having a go at it. I’m wondering what I can do to get it thriving again?? I have no idea what kind of plant it is at all. Will the leaves Uncurl or should I chop it all and start it from scratch? I’m new to plants so please give me any advice it will be highly appreciated. Thanks!! :)

Let it adjust to your home and give water when the soil is dry

I’d either let it adjust then treat for pests and change soil, water thoroughly, and get it some decent light and humidity…or: do all of that now. Pros and cons to both. Cons: doing it immediately can traumatize it though I don’t typically have this issue with my setup, waiting too long can allow pests to spread to other plants unless quarantined. Pros: fresh start!

Thank you! I think I’ll leave it for a while and see if it improves but if not then I’ll definitely repot it.

I think the curling is from dehydration but don’t overwater. Maybe if where you live is low humidity, than put one near it. Good luck!

It almost looks like elephant ears I brought in from my back yard. They curled & shriveled when I first potted them, but once I cut all the dried/drooping leaves off, new ones started popping out like crazy!!
