Hello! I have this fiddle leaf fig that has not put out new leaves in a very long time. I had seen lots of videos about chopping fiddle leaf figs to promote new growth. Should I chop mine? If so, will it do ok without all its leaves? And where should I chop it? How low? Should I move it back inside? She’s been outside for about 2-3 weeks. I haven’t seen any change since moving her. Please help, I want her to thrive!

Additionally, this was a gift from my mom who chopped it from a mother plant and since I received it a few months ago it stopped growing. Could it just still be in shock from the move? I did not repot it when I received it.

YES!! I have two FLF and I occasionally chop some leaves/ stems off. They grow right back and will keep growing. Don’t cut off all the leaves, only a stem! You probably should move it inside, they are very picky plants! They do NOT like to be moved around often. Another thing that I do all the time is to shake them. I know it sounds weird, but it really works! I hope this helps!

I only have the one stem. All the leaves are on that stem. Should I cut that stem?

I wouldn’t cut all of them off. Because it’s a baby and still small it’s better to only cut off a few leaves. Sorry if I wasn’t that clear in my first comment!
