Two new plant babies from Home Depot! Less than $20 for both of them! If you have any tips for either I’d appreciate it 😊

Sting of bananas love to dry out completely and get watered from the bottom. (You can water from the top every few waterings to drain out the soil though). As for the syngonium, those like to be watered whenever the soil is halfway-2/3 dry. Also misting syngoniums can help unfurl the leaves a bit easier!

I use a systemic insecticidal soap spray on their soil and wipe down their leaves in case of any pests I don’t spot, and check the roots and soil for root damage or rot or signs of pests, especially under the leaves. Home Depot and Lowe’s are a lil infamous for being pest magnets cause employees aren’t trained on how to plant houseplants and they’re close to the outdoor gardening section’s constantly opening doors, letting plenty of pests in. They’re often potted in the wrong soil, potted in self watering pots or pots with no drainage. I usually err on the side of caution and repot anything bought from a box store completely to reduce the risk of soil or pest issues. Hope this helps!
