Hi guys! I am concerned for my silver dragon. It was looking really bad when I adopted it and I concluded that the soil was just bad and the pot was constricting the roots. I repotted it in a slightly bigger pot with the right soil mixture but It still looks sad ( but better than before) It’s been a few weeks since the repotting. Does anyone else have this issue?

    I don’t have a silver dragon but other Alocasias and they can be a bit dramatic when repotting. Mine also seem to do well in well draining soils but a layer of moist sphagnum moss as a topper to boost humidity without drowning the roots. You could try that maybe. Give it a minute though and don’t be stressed if it looses a few leaves. They just do that sometimes.

      I do have a small humidifier next to it which seems to help a little bit but I will try that as well! Thanks so much for your input :)

    hello! i have several silver dragons. they are not a fan of repotting, like tabby said. it also looks to me like this plant is reaching for light, small leaves and long petioles isn't super great. what direction does this window face? alocasia prefer east or west

      The window does face west. What do you suggest?

      it must be stretching caused by the store it came from, then. just give it some time, rotate every few days so it doesn't lean. remember to fertilize! alocasia are heavy feeders and will quickly start tossing out older leaves if you forget. mine get a splash of all-purpose fertilizer with every watering.
