Hi guys!! I saw one larvae in my Alocasia and I freaked out. I repotted it. I didn’t see any other one. Anyway, I think I made a mistake and I am scared of my plant dying. What can I do? I washed off the soil from the roots (it was a good soil), and now I’m letting in dry close to a fan. What should I do next? The picture of the new soil and the place I usually leave my alocasia is in this post. I leave it in the shelf because it can be toxic to my cat. Please, help me..

Are u sure it was a larvae? Remember, Alocasia grow corns from their roots that u can plant to make new babies. Just wondering that is what u found.

Oh my. Well, I have an Alocasia that lives in water and I love watching her roots grow. Maybe that would be an option for you. I’ll try to find a pic…

Okay, thank you. That would be a good idea. What light do you place yours? Mine is facing a north window on a shelf. Do you think that is enough? I am new to plants. I started two months ago 😅 so sometimes I get confused

This is where she sits in my kitchen. Not really near a grow light but loves being next to the small mushroom humidifier! SW window.

I also have 2 peace lilies in water. They are thriving. Here is my mini one. 💚

Next time don’t repot or mess with the roots unless it’s actually necessary, alocasias are very finicky and it stresses them out. It might loose a few leaves but just give it lots of light and humidity and it will bounce back.
