I’m glad you’re still here, too. Accidents are scary and cause a lot of trauma. I hope you will be well!

OMGOSH! So glad you are okay! I just bought this Monstera. It has brown on one of the leaves in a couple spots.🤷‍♀️ it was extremely dry. I filled the over pot with water and I’m letting it sit in the water for a few hours and then will drain it off. Do you think that is okay? It’s a “self watering” pot I guess. It has a spike in the bottom with string on it. But I’ll water it when it dries out & make sure it all drains. Thanks for any help. Your monstera is beautiful!

How’d you get those leaves to look like that? Mine are mostly solid. Are their different types?

thank you! and are you referring to the fenestrations if so? LIGHT. Ever since I moved it by the window the leaves are way bigger and they grow faster. I’ve heard good and bad things about those self watering pots however the plant could’ve just been neglected before you bought it and that may have caused the damage you see. Honestly it’s look sunburn to me…I would cut off any damaged leaves as long as it’s not more than 50% of foliage and carefully monitor it for the next and make sure it’s not getting too much sun. Also it looks like you have your petiole tied that may be suffocating the plant use this picture for reference on how to mount it! that’s all I can think of rn and just double check your leaves for any pest. Have you checked your roots since you bought it?

What’s a petiole? It was falling over so badly I just stuck that Velcro on it. I have a pole to put it on and branch support things to help hold it up.
