Hi, I've been propogating this plant and I've had it in water for a while now and it's grown so many roots. I really love this plant and don't want to risk anything. Do I just set it in soil now? I have perlite and coconut choir, do I add that too? Do I leave the soil slightly moist or do I actually water it and keep the soil wet since it's used to water and has water roots? Any help or advice please! Thank you in advance.

It’s a coleus meant for outdoor gardens and containers. They do like to stay moist &Regular potting mix is fine but you can add the perlite for better drainage. eventually it will flower and die.

Sorry I was wrong you CAN keep them as perennials but I would remove any flowers that might grow

My plan is to take cuttings before it flowers so I can keep the plant indefinitely. I have him under a grow light getting good direct light, and he’s showing a lot of new growth — do you think that’ll work? Also, when I pot him, should I water right after or just moisten the soil and let him settle first?

The flowers on those are beautiful, and they can do great as perennials anywhere as long as you bring them inside for winter. In my experience they're super easy to care for. i trimmed mine back and stuck the extra stems back in the same pot, no rooting hormone or anything, just dirt, and they rooted easily. If you follow basic instructions for switching from water to soil, it should be a happy camper
