it’s definitely looking stressed. Here are some things that might help revive it: 1. Sunlight Snake plants prefer indirect bright light. The full direct sun on that balcony might be too harsh, especially in warmer months—it can scorch the leaves. Try moving it to a spot with bright but filtered light, or even indoors near a window with sheer curtains. 2. Watering These plants are super drought-tolerant and don’t like wet soil. Overwatering is a common killer. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings. Then water thoroughly, but make sure excess water can drain out. 3. Soil & Drainage Make sure the pot has drainage holes, and use a well-draining soil mix, like cactus or succulent soil. If the soil is compacted or soggy, consider repotting it. 4. Check the Roots If you’re comfortable doing it, gently remove the plant and check for mushy or black roots—those are signs of root rot. Trim them off with sterile scissors before repotting. 5. Trim Dead Leaves You can cut away the fully limp or yellowing leaves at the base. This redirects energy to healthier parts and encourages new growth.

Just going by your pic, it appears to be overwatered-the soil looks wet and leaves are drooping. Also the pot may be too big. Check root system and repot into a pot just a little larger than the roots. Snake plants are succulents so they need similar care as Taylor mentioned. The only thing I kinda have different thoughts on is with the sunlight. They can handle direct morning sun if acclimated to it. But outdoors on a balcony may be too intense. My sansevieria are all under grow lights or in the morning sun.

Thanks for your input guys! had actually just watered it, which it why the soil looked wet. After I got this app, it realized I had been watering it wrong, because I was only using about 1 cup of water every 2 weeks, and not getting the soil completely wet. The plant also used to be a lot bigger than it was which is why it is in this pot, but a lot of the leaves had died and had been cut off since on me trying to save it before this app. I had it usually set in a south facing window by my balcony. after I watered it fully I decided to place it outside thinking this might help. I believe what weakened it was just not being watered properly enough.. Let me know what you think! This is what it looks like today..

Your watering routine may have created another situation. Creating an underwatered problem. If the root system becomes very dry, it may cause it to repel water. You can take out of pot to get better idea or bottom water it allowing it to sit in water for maybe a couple hours. It’s hard to tell because each case is different.

Yea, this happened to my old snake plant. I was underwatering and caused the plant to lose a lot of its established root system. They like to dry out but not for long. I practiced the “lift check” to get mine back healthy. When you soak it completely and it’s fully drained, that’s the baseline for “fully watered”. When it’s almost to completely dried out, that’s the baseline for “dried out”. Once you have those down, watering becomes a lot easier. Also bottom watering helped a ton with new growth for roots and future pups. And I’ve been told and noticed before that if the leaves are wrinkly then that’s an indicator that it needs water as well. I hope this helps some.

Also if the leaves are still drooping, you can prop them up until they harden off again. I had to do this for mine because I lost a leaf or two from where the bend occurred.
