I got this plant off my sister that she’s had for a while but could use some help with how to care for it- I changed the soil to a generic indoor plant potting mix but I don’t know a lot about it

It looks like a large pot perhaps for the size of the plant. This can be problematic because this plant prefers really good drainage and drying. You might want to mix the indoor potting mix with perlite and coir chips for better drainage of it becomes soggy

I’ll try a smaller pot, thank you! It has got perlite in the soil mix, I do ceramics and usually make my own pots so I’ll have a look into making a better one for it

As a rule, the pot should be no more than 2” larger than the root ball. This is for two reasons: increases chance of root rot, and sluggish growth because the plant focuses energy on roots rather than leaves. I’ve learned this lesson through experience. Thankfully many of my plants survived despite this struggle but the growth has been super slow.

They’re doing much better in 2 temp pots while I make some more permanent ones!
